Revisiting Homecoming: A Potential Return

Homecoming is a game that I came up almost 2 years ago for a school assignment on UI design. The game concept was minimal and even though I believe the UI design and other aspects of the game need revising, it could be revived with a sufficient overhaul. I wanted to continue personal projects to hone my skills and the concept here could see development.

The original concept of Homecoming revolves around the internal conflicts of a young man whom left his family and hometown years ago. He would return due to unspecified reasons and finds himself trapped at his hometown, familiar yet alien at the same time.
The gameplay of Homecoming would have the player find clues and locations that piece together the big picture and avoiding horrific entities that attempt to scope out the player. The player's have their phone and backpack at the start, to illuminate paths and store items respectively.
The game would have used a dark toned palette for the overall world design for the dark night setting of the town and at times the vibe of directionless wandering to players. The UI design would have used a more simpler light palette as to stand out from the dark atmosphere of the background.
As of now there is consideration to revive this game concept and expand upon the theme of mental conflicts and relationships in a local setting. I would provides more updates when progress is sufficient.
